Rev.Marlon Henderson Sr M.Div.
Rev Marlon D. Henderson, Sr. is a native of Hammond, Louisiana, where he resides. He has dedicated his life to serving God and his community, fostering love, unity, and compassion as the guiding principles of his ministry. From a young age, Rev. Henderson was deeply influenced by his grandparents, Rev. Dr. David and Nelwin Henderson. They reared him from infancy, ensuring that the church played a pivotal role in his upbringing. Their guidance and teachings were instrumental during his childhood and as he matured into adulthood. Under their watchful care, he accepted Christ as his savior on Palm Sunday in 1982. He was baptized on Easter Sunday, marking a significant milestone in his spiritual journey that year.

In a career spanning 27 years, Rev. Henderson began his service with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department as a reserve deputy. He then joined the Ponchatoula Police Department as a full-time patrolman, during which he became a POST-certified officer. His dedication to law enforcement continued as he served with the Hammond Police Department, taking on roles as a juvenile detective and a valued SWAT team member. Subsequently, Rev. Henderson has notably served the Louisiana State Police for 21 years, undertaking pivotal roles such as working on the FBI Innocent Images task force, being a part of the mobile field force, and dedicating his skills as a cold-case homicide detective and as a member of TEAP. His commitment to service saw him assigned to the Louisiana State Police Protective Services Unit, where he serves as a desk sergeant.

Rev. Henderson is the Senior Pastor of First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Geismar, Louisiana. In this role, he tirelessly promotes a sense of community and understanding among God's people, encouraging them to unite in godly communion. His pastoral journey has also led him to serve as the Senior Pastor at several other churches, including Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Louisiana, Empowering Life Christian Church in Magnolia, Mississippi, and Terry's Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Gillsburg, Mississippi. In addition to his pastoral duties, Rev. Henderson has enriched the academic community as an adjunct instructor at California Baptist University and the Union Baptist College and Theological Seminary extension campus in Progress, Mississippi. His academic journey further evidences his commitment to education. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion: Biblical and Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Master of Divinity from Houston Christian University, formerly Houston Baptist University. He is pursuing his Ph.D. at Luther Rice College and Seminary, a testament to his never-ending quest for knowledge and understanding.

Rev. Henderson is also a published author, contributing to the theological discourse with works such as "The Pulpiteer of the 21st Century," "Understanding the Scandal of the Cross," and "The Double Life of a Cop Pastor: From the Beat to the Pulpit." His scholarly achievements have earned him a lifetime membership in the Theta Alpha Kappa honor society. Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Rev. Henderson has many talents, with a deep expertise in music education. He is proficient in playing the saxophone and piano and has a skilled hand in carpentry, specializing in framing. In his leisure time, he enjoys repairing small engines, a hobby that aligns well with his love for reading, watching documentaries, and composing music.

Henderson is a devoted servant of God and a loving husband and father. He shares his life and the joy of raising five children with his wife, Tira Jackson-Henderson. Together, they nurture a family grounded in love, faith, and a commitment to community, embodying the principles Rev. Henderson preaches in his ministry.
